Coaching for Education Staff - Exploring Futures

Coaching for Education Staff

Create Clarity | Achieve Goals | Maximise Potential
Staff coaching is a valuable tool to help individuals and teams to bring things into focus; it will provide perspective and create the opportunity for staff to revaluate exactly what they want to achieve and the benefits of doing so for them and the organisation as a whole.

I have been coaching in the education sector since 2014. Staff, I have coached, including headteachers, senior leaders and, teachers/support staff often speak of their job as becoming all-consuming, with little time to focus on themselves and their own needs. The vast majority feel a strong sense of responsibility for putting the needs of the students first whilst being supportive to colleagues, parents, and external partners; often leaving their own needs taking backstage.

The most effective staff are those for whom an investment is made in their personal, professional and leadership development.  Coaching provides that investment –

“It is truly an effective tool to support all staff and sustain a healthy and productive working environment for staff and students alike.”

– Headteacher, Knowsley

How often will you observe the behaviours of a student and wonder why they are behaving that way, why are they not performing? Taking the time to ask can help.  It is exactly the same for staff, yet finding the time is a challenge. That’s where I can help. Here are some of the many areas I have, and continue to coach staff in:

  • Leadership development
  • Understanding of how to manage and sustain good mental health
  • Increasing levels of performance, resilience, and motivation
  • Enhancing/developing emotional intelligence – to better understand self/others
  • Effective communication skills
  • Improving levels of self-esteem, confidence, and the ability to manage difficult situations.
  • Effective collaborative working with internal and external colleagues
  • Work life balance and improving their overall mental wellbeing.

I also deliver full, and half day interactive group workshops and twilight sessions tailored to meet aims/objectives of the school and often targeting the areas referenced above.
